We charge one fee for initial and routine appointments. If you are a new patient, then during the appointment, we would go through your medical history, do an assessment, provide our diagnosis, provide treatment (if required) and establish a management plan. Please allow up to 45 minutes for this appointment. If it has been a while since the last time you saw a Podiatrist (chiropodist) and your condition requires extra treatment time, then we would either book a follow-up appointment or whenever possible extend your appointment to complete the treatment (extra £10 charge per 15 minutes increment).
Do You Have Foot, Joint or Muscle Pain? A biomechanical assessment involves an examination of the lower limbs, looking at their structure, alignment, strengths and weaknesses and how this relates to your walking pattern. The assessment looks for any irregularity which may contribute to pain in your feet, limbs and back, or for abnormality which may contribute to callus or corn formation. Please bring to the appointment footwear together with any insoles that you are currently using to be reviewed. We would request that patients wear non-restrictive clothing like leggings/shorts (no belts, avoid baggy t-shirts). For gait analysis please wear shoes with removable insoles (ideally a neutral shoe that doesn’t have arch support).
WHAT IS SWIFT®? Swift is a new technology, developed in the UK, which has been licensed for the general treatment of skin lesions in Podiatry and Dermatology. Swift uses microwave energy which is delivered through a special probe applied to the skin to treat the affected tissue. Treatments are carried out every 4 weeks and for approximately 80% of patients a total of 3 treatments will be required. Some verrucae resolve after one treatment and others require three or more treatments. After the third treatment there is a break of 12 weeks, after which a follow up appointment is scheduled to evaluate progress, if verrucae is still present, further treatment sessions may be advised. Some patients will find the level of discomfort acceptable, whereas others will have a lower pain threshold and may not be able to tolerate the treatment, in that case we would either suggest administering local anaesthesia (extra charge will apply) or reduce the power whilst increasing amount of applications. For further details please book a consultation with a podiatrist. Charges – First treatment £150, second treatment £125, third treatment £100. Extra treatment if required £75.
