The podiatrist will look through your form and obtain a full medical history of you to help identify possible areas of concern that could lead to foot and leg problems. The podiatrist will then give you an expert examination of your foot and lower leg to check your blood flow, feeling, sensation, strength and record your Electrocardiogram (ECG). These tests will identify any area of concern, including deformities such as bunion or hammertoes, skin and nail changes. After the examination, the podiatrist will provide treatment and/or offer a treatment plan which may include a change in footwear, insoles, physical exercises or general foot care advice. In some cases, referrals to other specialists may be necessary. We can provide GP letter reports (additional charges apply).

Do You Have Foot, Joint or Muscle Pain? A biomechanical assessment involves an examination of the lower limbs, looking at their structure, alignment, strengths and weaknesses and how this relates to your walking pattern. The assessment looks for any irregularity which may contribute to pain in your feet, limbs and back, or for abnormality which may contribute to callus or corn formation. Please bring to the appointment footwear together with any insoles that you are currently using to be reviewed. We would request that patients wear non-restrictive clothing like leggings/shorts (no belts, avoid baggy t-shirts).
WHAT IS SWIFT®? Swift is a new technology, developed in the UK, which has been licensed for the general treatment of skin lesions in Podiatry and Dermatology. Swift uses microwave energy which is delivered through a special probe applied to the skin to treat the affected tissue. Treatments are carried out every 4 weeks and for approximately 80% of patients a total of 3 treatments will be required. Some verrucae resolve after one treatment and others require three or more treatments. After the third treatment there is a break of 12 weeks, after which a follow-up appointment is scheduled to evaluate progress, if verruca is still present, further treatment sessions may be advised. Some patients will find the level of discomfort acceptable, whereas others will have a lower pain threshold and may not be able to tolerate the treatment, in that case, we would either suggest administering local anaesthesia (extra charge will apply) or reduce the power whilst increasing amount of applications. For further details please book a consultation with a podiatrist. For more information please click MORE INFORMATION ON SWIFT VERRUCA TREATMENT HERE
