Dear Patients,
Following last Friday’s announcement by my governing body College of Podiatry, I would like to let you know that I can now offer routine podiatry service to all patients from Monday 8th June.
***So What Is Different At The Moment?***
TEMPORARY CHANGE OF ADDRESS!
As Cambourne Fitness & Sports Centre remains closed until further notice I have set up a dedicated clinical treatment room at my house which is located on the ground floor right by the entrance of the house. Toilet facility is available. Please don’t go to the sports centre, the address and instructions will be emailed to you at the time of booking.
NO PATIENTS WITH SYMPTOMS!
I am not permitted to see patients with symptoms linked to the coronavirus (SARS-COV-2), so if at the time of booking or on the day of your appointment you or anyone in your household develops a cough, high temperature, loss of taste or smell, then please get in touch and we will reschedule your appointment. Even if you start to develop any symptoms related to cold or flu, then please let me know. The late cancellation charge is still suspended. If you have symptoms linked to SARS-COV-2 and have an urgent foot care need you would need to get in touch with the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS podiatry department on 03307260077 or call 111.
PRICE ADJUSTMENTS!
All fees have gone up by £5 This is due to longer times between appointments due to extra cleaning, we now need extra time to ventilate the room, wash the floor, and of course the price of PPE (personal protection equipment) is still much higher than it used to be.
NEW PROCEDURES IN PLACE TO KEEP YOU AND US SAFE!
Please arrive for your appointment on time. If you are early please wait in your car until the time of your appointment. Have your mobile phone with you in case you can’t find the address or are running late. For extra protection please wear either a DIY facial mask or one can be provided to you. Upon entering the property I would ask you to wash your hands, a hand sanitiser is also available. The 2-metre social distancing will be observed whenever possible to do so. I will be wearing full PPE, I have also got a protective screen now for extra protection. All surfaces, equipment and floors are cleaned between appointments, as before all instruments that I use are routinely sterilised. I don’t currently accept cash payments, please be ready to pay by card, if you wish you can prepay your appointment fee online or over the phone (please let me know in advance).
HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
Online bookings are back from Tuesday 2nd June. The best way is to book online www.rowlandsfootcare.com/online_bookings or you may email us a request for an appointment on rowlandsfootcare@gmail.com or call 01223 926365. IMPORTANT: Your appointment confirmation email will contain a link to Online Triage form, this needs to be filled in prior to your appointment, I will not be able to see you unless this form has been filled. If you are a new patient then you would also need to fill in the New Patient form. Patients that do not have access to the internet will be able to go through the triage over the phone and fill in a physical New Patient form during the appointment.
For certain problems and whenever possible, I may offer an online video consultation instead of a face-to-face appointment.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with us.
Lastly, I would like to say that these times have been and still are very difficult for all of us, some of us have lost loved ones and friends due to COVID-19, I do appreciate that there are many different opinions about the pandemic, some may feel that extra PPE and current safety procedures are extreme and unnecessary. I have to follow strict government guidelines and by doing so I do my best to try and keep my patients and myself safe.
I look forward to seeing my patients soon, I really missed you all and my work.
I would like to also point out that there may be times when I would have to alter appointments, this is because I must give priority to patients who require more immediate attention. Whenever this happens, I would always aim to give as much notice and provide a suitable alternative appointment time.
Yours sincerely,
Iryna Rowlands BSc (Hons), MCPod
